Converting over to SquareSpace really got me thinking about how I wanted to use my site, how I wanted it to be viewed, and what really keeps me interested on the internet.
On my old Wordpress site I was constantly writing up drafts, but I was rarely posting them. Between reviews, rants, and pictorials, I just couldn't commit to actually putting a lot of stuff out there. I was too bogged down with "Is this the right format for this thought?" Also, I'm super neurotic.
Then I spent a couple hours going through the SquareSpace templates and taking notes on them.*
So I'm trying out a whole new site & blog methodology!
When you visit Ionsomnia.com, it'll take you directly to the Index. This picture minefield is going to be what I consider "content." Click through to get to actual reviews, extended ramblings I try to pass off as coherent, or contextualized galleries (hah, as if!).
If you switch over to the Blog (upper left corner) instead, it's going to be a lot more Bloggy. Expect shorter snippets of thought, not necessarily with pictures. Not necessarily with a point.
I'll note on the Bloggy part when I've got new reviews up on the Index, for the sake of RSS folk.
We'll see how this goes. Obviously I have no idea what I'm actually doing.
